bioDBnet can produce SVG and PNG images displaying the position of different identifiers on the chromosomes. If the chrView program finds the chromosomal location for the biological database identifiers it represents them as a horizontal bar on the specific chromosome. The scale is 2 million bases per pixel.
The png images are static images while the svg images are interactive. On mouse over the svg image displays more information about the identifiers represented by a bar. Wherever possible these identifiers are hyperlinked to external database pages.
Right now the images can be drawn for human, mouse and rat identifiers, this limitation would likely be removed in a future version.
